SAIC ECPSI Installation - 2023
I completed an experimental drawing course at SAIC the summer of 2023 with Stevie Hanley as the instructor. I had a great time creating with the materials I brought and was encouraged to go all out with my ideas. This installation was created over two weeks. Materials used include: acrylic texturing paste, tempera, paint markers on wood scrap board, film strips, magazine, fiber paste, ink, and crackle medium.
cross-eyed crick - Size: 11"×18", 11"x18" - Medium: Mixed media on paper - Description: A part of the previous (SAIC) installation, this piece was inspired by my two furry muses Cricket and Mushu. What I intended to describe was the feeling of so many things happening, connecting to how I see things and multitask. The bottle of Adderall is a reference to the ADHD stimulants I started at age 8 due to behavioral issues. This made me feel constantly out of place and frustrated to work at a slower pace than my peers. I feel the many things happening at once in my brain and this piece shows that. I used a variety of different kinds of paper as well as water soluble graphite.
